Active Lane Keeping Assist

Active Brake Assist can help you to avoid rear-ending moving or stationary vehicles ahead, as well as prevent accidents with moving pedestrians or cyclists. As part of this, in addition to distance and collision warning, the system primarily also offers situation-related braking assistance – right up to autonomous emergency braking.
4MATIC all-wheel drive
With its 4MATIC all-wheel drive and the special off-road drive program,[g]the GLS is able to master both light and heavy terrain. Additional help is provided by the Torque on Demand (Single Speed) longitudinal transfer case, which can increase traction on meadows, gravel and light terrain.
